First 30x30 Canada is an Indigenous-led non-profit initiative that supports Indigenous governments to design and launch projects that generate long-term revenue for land restoration and protection, while advancing Indigenous rights and responsibilities. The initiative is collaboratively led by Nature For Justice, the IISAAK OLAM Foundation, and Nature Focus Development.
First 30x30 supports Nations to turn their vision into action by removing early financial and technical barriers to land management. Their team provides tailored support to Indigenous Nations to establish Nation-led projects that generate long-term income from carbon markets and other Nature-based Solutions (NbS). They ensure every project is Nation-led, rooted in ecological integrity, and designed for lasting stewardship by supporting Nations to build the capacity, tools, and partnerships Indigenous governments need to manage their lands on their own terms.
First 30x30 Canada works to ensure Indigenous governments lead decision-making. The initiative supports long-lasting, high-quality projects that build climate resilience, protect nature, and bring social benefits.
Co-lead and advisory.
First 30x30 Canada has collaborated with Kanaka Bar Indian Band, Lhooz Kuz First Nation, Salmon Parks, and others to explore long-term funding for stewardship and restoration efforts.
