The ISAAK OLAM Foundation is catalyzing a movement of empowered individuals and organizations that want to work together to create a peaceful economy based on generosity and reciprocity.
Our work is directly guided by We Rise Together, the 2018 report of the Indigenous Circle of Experts (ICE) for the Pathway to Canada Target 1. This landmark resource introduced Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas (IPCAs) not as a new conservation model, but as a pathway that centres Indigenous laws, knowledge systems, and leadership. It offers 28 actionable recommendations and foundational concepts—like Ethical Space and a mindset of responsibilities—that shape how IPCAs can be established, governed, and sustained.
We Rise Together is a principle, call to action, and vision for how we catalyze and sustain positive change together in a way that benefits all. It affirms that when we uphold Indigenous values and work in true partnership, we all rise.
Grounded in the spirit and vision of We Rise Together, IISAAK OLAM Foundation is supporting this powerful movement in the Pacific region through the Pacific IPCA Innovation Centre, the Clayoquot Campus, and the West Coast IPCA Support Program (WISP). Together, these initiatives create space for learning, collaboration, and capacity building, supporting communities to design and strengthen IPCAs rooted in Indigenous values and governance.
