Mackenzie Ross

OUTREACH AND ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR

Mackenzie graduated from the University of Victoria with a B.Sc. (Honours) in geography and environmental studies. Before joining the IISAAK OLAM Foundation, Mackenzie’s education and career pursuits were centred around the intersection of conservation and environmental education. Mackenzie is deeply passionate about nature connectedness, experiential learning, and community-engaged work.

Mackenzie’s background is Ukrainian and Scottish and she was born on the lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. Now living and working on the territory of the lək̓ʷəŋən Peoples, Mackenzie is deeply interested in the coastal and marine ecology of the Salish Sea.

In joining the IISAAK OLAM Foundation, Mackenzie is bringing an energized approach to community engagement and collaboration. With experience working in the dynamic nonprofit sector, Mackenzie is most engaged when collaborating on a diversity of projects and initiatives. Outside of work and the digital environment, Mackenzie enjoys volunteering for local non-profits and restoration projects as a way to remain connected to local lands, waters and species.
