Benjamin Hazel

Film Director

Benjamin is a filmmaker based in the Tseshaht & Hupacasath territories of the Alberni valley. Benjamin’s work centers around restoration and protection of land, highlighting Indigenous peoples’ role in stewardship. Benjamin is the owner of Olam Films, a production company which partners with Iisaak Olam Foundation to create cinematic videos on Indigenous-led conservation and IPCAs.
Benjamin also mentors Indigenous youth in filmmaking and photography through the Emerging Storyteller Program and has led workshops in partnership with IOF.
